Photo taken Nov 18th, 2002 A trip to the vet was rewarded with a catnip filled mouse toy. I tied a long shoelace to the mouse and also had to use electrical tape to secure the string. They will happily chase after the mouse if they can find someone to run around dragging it. Now that Sam (my oldest daughter) has moved to Eastern Alberta, there is no one to drag the toy for them, other than Linda who obliges them on occasion.
Photo taken Nov 18th, 2002 Still playing with the mouse, but this time Bubble has captured it. Actually this is mouse #2. Mouse #1 has gone missing so I had to bring a backup mouse into play. Mice 3 and 4 are 'still on the bench'.
Photo taken Nov 18th, 2002 I warned Squeak not to be too rough on the little guy, as he was going to get much bigger, bigger than her in fact. And now that he is, he is not often on the bottom of he pile. They still play wrestle lot. Occasionally it gets a little to rough and nasty hisses are exchanged. Now that they do not have front claws, their wrestling matches are much safer. On the other hand, with no front claws, thy can never go outside alone as they cannot defend themselves at all. I have a firm rule, they are not allowed out, period.
Photo taken Nov 18th, 2002 As they can't get me to pull the mouse so they can chase it, they have taken to pulling it themselves. I never know where it will end up and have stepped on it more than once. I must admit that I have not seen it for some time, so I think that it must be hidden somewhere, probably under the bed. They have a bag of catnip that my mom gave to them. They play with, and can even be seen staggering down the hall carrying it, walking like they are stoned. Maybe they are. I do not know what the attraction to catnip is, but they sure like it.
Photo taken Dec 13th, 2002 It is very difficult some days to work at my desk. It is Grand Central Kitten Station with kittens arriving and leaving regularly. Sometimes they even park in the “station”. Bubble was captivated by the screen saver, which happed to be a photo of a rather formidable monitor lizard. When the slide changed, he left. Copyright: |
