This is the first photo taken of Bubble.  He is exactly 6 weeks old in the photo, taken on the day Sam bought him home.  Bubble and Squeak are half brother and half sister, they share the same father, and their mothers are sisters.  They were born one litter apart, so at this time they had never met.  Bubble moved into the bedroom while Squeak had the rest of the house.  Of course, they both spent most of the time at the closed door, one on each side, sticking their paws underneath.  After a couple of days they were let loose on each other.

When Bubble first arrived in his new home, he was dirty and inundated with fleas.  Our house is a flea free zone so drastic measures had to be taken.  Linda was drafted to do the dirty job of giving him his bath.  I did not want him to associate me with the assumed unpleasant experience of a bath.  Linda was surprised when he did not struggle or complain while he was being bathed.  At the time we did not realize that it was a sign of his (and Squeak's) nature to actually like water and not mind getting wet!  Now I have to take care to keep him out of the tub!

Fresh out of the towel and raring to go.  From here he went directly to the bedroom where he spent quite awhile exploring the room.

This was taken 3 days later.  I returned to the bedroom and carefully opened the door, fearing that he might be just on the other side of it, and I might hurt him.  But he was not,  He was sound asleep on my bed, so I quietly closed the door and got the camera.  The flash did not wake him, so I left him to his sleep.  First days in a new home can be very tiring.

It did not take Bubble long to climb to the top.  He was up there in the first hour.  It is a full 37 inches off the floor.  It is a long way up for a little guy that was only 6 inches off the floor himself.
